Nov. 27, 2009 Lions win a thriller with one hundreth of a second left (.01) when Captain Benjamin Masella scoring his second of the night, after driving the net to pick up a loose puck after a valiant effort from Ryan Eardley! The Lions were down 3-0 in the first 10 minutes of the game after serving 8 minutes of penalties. The first period ended 4-2 when Masella scored his first of the game followed by Alex Carrier's breakaway tally. The second period saw Sotiri Athanasopolous scored the Lions third goal of the game but they still trailed Esther-Blondin 5-3 after two periods. When the third period began the Lions were determined to come out with a win. Ryan Eardley with his first of the year, closed the scoring to one goal. Dylan Trevis, who had a strong all around game evened things up at 5 setting the stage for a dramatic ending for Masella to lead the Lions to victory! Oct. 25, 2009 The Lac St. Louis Lions completed their second Quebec City road trip much like their first one earlier in the season; earning one point on the two-day weekend. After tying les Commandeurs de Levis on Friday night, the Lions proceeded to lose the extra point in OT when Levis scored on the rebound midway through the overtime period. Saturday afternoon's contest in Riviere-du-Loup was the second time this season the Lions were shut out on the scoresheet. Despite entering the second period tied at 0, the Lions were unable to contain ESND and fell by a score of 5-0. The Lions are back in action this weekend as they travel to Gatineau to face l'Intrepide on Friday night and are back home at the DDO Civic Center for a match against les Cantonniers de Magog.
