The Lac St. Louis Lions would like to congratulate Gary Agnew a player on the inaugural Lions team of 1976-1977 on his recent appointment as an Assistant Coach for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Gary has spent the last 6 seasons as the Head coach of the Blue Jackets top farm club the Syracuse Crunch. The Lions continue to be proud of all the alumni and wish Gary and the Blue Jackets the best of luck.

The entire Lac-St Louis Lions organization would like to congratulate the following former Lions on their recent achievements.

Stefan Chaput for being selected in the 5 th round of the 2006 NHL entry draft by the Carolina Hurricanes. Stefan wore number 10 for the Lions during the 2003 – 2004 season, and number 7 during the 2004 – 2005 campaign. Last year he played for Lewiston in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. We wish Stefan the best of luck in the 2006 Carolina Hurricanes training camp!

Alex Biega for his outstanding achievement of being accepted to Harvard University as well as for being drafted in the 5 th round of the 2006 National Hockey League Draft by the Buffalo Sabres. Alex has chosen to continue his education and will be attending Harvard University in the fall majoring in Business Administration. Alex continues to have aspirations to play professional hockey following his education.

Alex Petizian has recently been accepted by St. Lawrence University in the graduating class of 2010. Alex played goal for the Lions during the 2002 – 2003 season. Last year he played for Northwood Prep school and next year he will be playing NCAA Division I for St. Lawrence in the ECAC.

Leonard Verrilli will be attending McGill University in the Civil engineering department next year and playing for the McGill Redmen in the upcoming season. Leonard played for the Lions during the 2002 – 2003 and 2003 – 2004 seasons.
