September 12, 2011 The 2011-2012 edition of the Lac St. Louis Lions started the season with a roar winning their first two games of the season by a combined score of 17 - 6. Max Cote led the way for the Lions with an 8 point weekend, which included 5 goals, 4 of which were scored in game 1 of the Lions season opener! Not to be out done, Aviv Milner followed up Cote's performance with a 4 goal night of his own the following night en route to a 9-0 win over the visiting College Charles Lemoyne. Neil Robinson tallied 4 goals of his own over the course of the weekend starting with a hat trick performance on Friday night, including the game winner, after the Lions had to come from behind twice in that game to finally overcome Seminaire St. Francois 8-6. Additional goal scorers on the weekend includedmrookie forwards Matthew Cusson and Vimal Sukumaren who both scored their first goals in the Midget AAA league with blistering shots just inside the top of the offensive face off circle. Returning Lions sensation Jonathan Drouin also scored his first of the year and added 3 assists to complete his 4 point weekend. Rookie goaltender Nicholas Gavrielatos earned his first Midget AAA victory of his career, while Julien Larouche notched his first win and shutout in and Lac St. Louis Lions uniform. The Lions are back in action Wednesday night as they travel to Magog to face les Cantonniers, then return home for a Saturday afternoon battle versus College Charles Lemoyne at the DDO Civic Center.
