The Lac St. Louis Lions earned three of a possible four points this past weekend by beating the number one ranked Intrepide de Gatineau and tying les Forestiers d'Amos in regulation time before losing in OT. The Lions began the weekend traveling to Gatineau to meet the first place team in the CCM division. The Lions stunned the home town crowd as they left the city with a 3-2 win, backstopped by a 40 save performance by the newly acquired goaltender Lino Chimienti. On Saturday night the Lions hosted Amos and trailed 3-2 to start the third period and rallied back to tie the game at 4. Shortly into the overtime period, Amos found the back of the net and walked away with a 5-4 win. The Lions are back in action this Friday and Saturday as they play host to Montreal and Gaineau for a home weekend series. Come cheer you Lions to victory! Source: Lac St. Louis Lions |

Jan 9, 2009 The Lac St. Louis Lions lost a nail biter in a shootout 4-3 last night in Chateauguay. After spotting the home team a three goal lead through the first two periods, all on power play opportunities, the Lions roared back in the third period scoring three unanswered goals to tie the game after 60 minutes of play. Simon Darveau, shorthanded, led the way for the Lions on a blistering one timer after a nice feed from Connor Gagnon. Minutes later after a scramble in front of the net the Lions managed to bank one off a Patriotes defenseman's body to cut the lead to one. With just minutes remaining in the period, Jeremy Wong tied up the game driving to the net and receiving a great pass from Geoffrey Gallagher. Overtime solved nothing and the shootout went Chateauguay's way as they took the game by a final score of 4-3. The Lions are back in action tonight (Friday) at the dollard-des-Ormeaux Civic Center as they host Trois-Rivieres for the first of a home and home series on the weekend. Game starts at 7:35.
